Your Wave username is your full business email address, for example Jane.Fonda@workout.com.

You can also find the email address registered for you in our welcome email. It was sent by Wave [no-reply] and with the subject line "Welcome to Wave, here are your access instructions." If you can't find it, please submit aWave Support form.

I get a page with an error message that reads "This site cannot be reached." Why can't I access Wave?

If you receive that error message, you are likely trying to access Wave remotely (i.e. outside of your company's office network). In this case, make sure to log into your company's VPN network or access from a corporate office network.

I was automatically logged out of Wave. What is your timeout policy?

Wave has an idle timeout as required by McKinsey Information Security policy and to align with industry best practices.

When there is no user activity for 30 minutes on the browser tab where Wave is open, you will automatically be logged out. This helps protect your data in the event you should leave your computer unattended or unlocked, or should you forget to log out on a shared computer.

Does the link to set up my password in the welcome email expire?

Yes, the link to set the password in the welcome email expires 5 days after the send date. Should you access the link once it is expired, you will be directed to a page where you can request a new password set link.

How do I request login credentials for a new user?

Wave Support can help you add new users. Once you have confirmed with your company's Wave representative that creation of a new user account is authorized, submit a Wave Support form with the following details:

  • Your company name
  • User's first and last name
  • User's company email address
  • Any visibility/permissions information pertinent to the user

When you email Wave Support, you will receive a support ticket ID number. Please remember to refer to this ID number in any emails replies or phone follow-up.

Once your request is completed, the user will receive an email from no-reply@mckinseywave.com that contains a login link. This request should be complete within 2 business days. If the user does not receive an email, confirm they have looked in their spam email folder.
